Cephalon Simaris Synthesis Targets

Cephalon Simaris’ Daily Synthesis Tasks require you to locate a special version of a specific enemy and scan its four Synthesis points using a Synthesis Scanner.

The easiest approach is not simply to visit any mission where the enemy exists. Certain nodes are considerably more reliable than others, and short Capture, Exterminate, and Rescue missions make repeated scans much faster.

You don’t really need to memorize the entire table.

For most Daily Synthesis assignments, Lex, Cassini, Isos and Hepit cover an absurdly large percentage of the possible targets.

Grineer

Start with Lex, Ceres.

If the target isn’t well suited to Lex, try Cassini, Saturn.

Infested

Start with Isos, Eris.

It covers most of the commonly assigned Infested Synthesis Targets while remaining a quick Capture mission.

Corrupted

Start with Hepit, Void.

Use Oxomoco for the higher-tier Corrupted targets such as the Corrupted Bombard and Corrupted Nullifier.

Corpus

Corpus targets are somewhat less convenient because several older documented locations were on Jupiter and the Jupiter Gas City tileset has changed considerably over Warframe’s lifetime.

For MOAs, Venera, Venus and Skyresh, Phobos remain useful starting points. For higher-level Crewman variants, use an appropriate Corpus-controlled mission where that enemy currently spawns.

How to Find the Target

Before starting the mission, make sure the requested Daily Synthesis Task is active and you have a Synthesis Scanner equipped in your Gear Wheel.

When you enter a compatible mission, Cephalon Simaris will announce that a Synthesis Target is present.

Equip the scanner and look through it periodically. A blue/orange spiralling trail becomes visible through the scanner and points toward the target.

Once you’re close enough, Simaris identifies it and the Synthesis Target receives a special marker.

Do not simply scan the enemy once like a Codex entry. A Synthesis Target has four separate Synthesis nodes positioned around its body.

Scan all four.

Once the final point is scanned, the target disappears and the Synthesis is complete.

Kinetic Siphon Traps

Targets frequently run away, become difficult to hit or activate special defensive behaviours.

A Kinetic Siphon Trap temporarily suspends the target and makes scanning considerably easier.

Drop one next to the target and scan the four points while it is immobilised.

For straightforward Daily Synthesis farming, there is little reason to make life harder than necessary.

Recommended Farming Method

1. Accept the Daily Task from Simaris.

2. Identify the target in the table above.

3. Run the recommended Capture or Exterminate node solo.

Running solo avoids situations where another player kills the target before you can complete the scan.

4. Listen for Simaris immediately after entering the mission.

If he announces the target, continue.

5. Complete the Capture objective first if convenient.

You can then search the map without worrying about the Capture target.

6. Use the Synthesis Scanner to follow the trail.

7. Immobilise the target with a Kinetic Siphon Trap.

8. Scan all four Synthesis points.

9. Complete the mission normally.

Repeat until you’ve synthesized the number of targets requested by Simaris.

Important: A Normal Enemy Isn’t the Target

Finding a normal Bombard, Lancer or Ancient Disruptor does not mean you’ve found your Daily Synthesis Target.

Simaris creates a special Synthesis version of the requested enemy.

The easiest confirmation is simple:

If Simaris doesn’t announce a Synthesis Target when you enter the mission, the special target probably hasn’t spawned there.

Don’t spend ten minutes scanning every Grineer in sight while Simaris silently judges your life choices.
